The city of Prescott is located approximately 216 miles northwest of Tucson in the state of Arizona. It was founded in 1864 and was Arizona's first territorial capital. It is situated at an elevation of 5,300 feet (a mile high). The population of Prescott in 2006 was 41,528 and had a growth rate of about 23%.
