Burton (Buzz) has well over a decade of full time mechanical & fire protection system design and survey experience. He has prepared designs for a wide variety of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Buzz maintains a strong interest in surveys of existing facilities for energy optimization opportunities as well as commissioning of new and renovation projects.

Buzz's daily responsibilities include contract preparation; design; specification writing; submittal and shop drawing review; and site observation during construction for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. He has substantial experience in fire protection system design including: layout, hydraulic calculations, construction techniques and site surveys. He has a full understanding of plumbing and mechanical systems and codes, and has experience designing mechanical systems in many types of projects including educational, institutional, governmental, commercial, and industrial.

Buzz is interested in energy conserving technologies and commissioning of facilities for optimal performance. Buzz has expertise with many computer programs including energy simulation software. His knowledge of the LEED requirements assists him in preparing building simulation models. His knowledge of the software capabilities and the engineering behind them allows for quick and thorough analyses - a key benefit in LEED projects.
